One of my favorite things about living in sunny Florida was having the liberty of being able to bask outdoors all throughout the seasons. It had been a long-standing family tradition to wake up Christmas morning, open all of our presents, and then head straight to the beach. Since moving to Texas, I’ve had to come to terms with the fact that winter months entail multiple layers of clothing, hot chocolate, and spending copious amounts of time indoors. Granted, there are numerous perks of living out West, like having the option to consume authentic Mexican food at virtually anytime, the abundance of live music, and the beautiful hilly terrain surrounding the city (a novelty to Floridians).

Perpetually changing weather aside, Austin is great. We had a few hours of actual heat last weekend and I conned my boyfriend into snapping these pictures. In addition to being a wonderful boyfriend, he’s also a phenomenal impromptu photographer.

This beautiful short sleeve garb from MakeMeChic is perfect for any occasion. Its royal blue color is even more alluring in person, and the soft material the dress is made out of makes it a prime candidate for my new go-to sundress. I opted to pair the dress with velvet knee-high boots and an off-the-shoulder bag, which really added finishing touches to the outfit.
