I have a confession to make. I may or may not have accidentally ordered a maternity dress a couple of weeks ago in a bid of desperation to find the perfect outfit for SXSW this year. Whoops. It was love at first sight when I laid my eyes on this gorgeous floral maxi, but it wasn’t until I later perused the gallery on the website that I noticed one common trend amongst all the women: they were all pregnant. Honest mistake, right? Although I may not have been the intended customer for this stunning garb, I have to say, the dress is quite flattering on a non-maternal figure. Since I’m on the shorter side, I paired this piece with gray suede heeled boots to make the ensemble both gorgeous AND functional. I scored this Kate Spade satchel at an outlet store last summer for $40, and it really put the perfect finishing touch on the outfit.
Fun fact: It rains in Austin more than one would think. We had a relatively long dry spell upon arrival, but this past week has brought lots of precipitation which, as any gal can attest to, equates to frizzy, unruly hair. URGHHH. I’m crossing my fingers that the rest of the week will entail prime weather, because I’m trying to soak up (not literally, though) as much of the SXSW craziness as I possibly can. Cheers!
These pink statement teardrop earrings from Happiness Boutique made me feel like a real-life princess. Seriously. If it’s pink and has rhinestones, I NEED IT IN MY LIFE. These beauties are on sale for only $13.44, so head over to the website and snag a pair while you can!
