My sweet tooth is no joke, ya’ll. I can remember waking up before school in the mornings and fixing myself a colossal cup of chocolate milk before preparing to take on the day. It didn’t end there—I consumed all sorts of delectable, sugary creations throughout my childhood. To be honest, it’s truly a wonder I didn’t end up obese. Naturally, these bad habits managed to transgress into adulthood, but like any sensible human being, I’ve attempted to keep my sugar consumption at a minimum in favor of living a healthy lifestyle. Since summer is virtually right around the corner, I’ve made pact to myself to become the best possible version of me by then, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally, as well. However, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t occasionally crave (and subsequently splurge) on a sweet treat. There are just waaaaaaay too many amazing desserts out there to pass up, am I right? Sugar was created for us to enjoy (in moderate quantities, of course), so here are a couple of my absolute favorite tried-and-true dessert recipes:
Soft and Chewy Sugar Cookies
These pretty pink treats are fun, festive, and most importantly, delicious! Whip up a batch for a birthday party, or eat them all yourself.
Perfect Snickerdoodle Cookies
Snickerdoodle cookies remind me of the holidays, so I obviously have a huge affinity for these.
S’mores Cookie Bars
A creative and tasty adaptation of the classic smore. I’ll take 10 clusters of these, plz and thank you.
Perfect Lemon Pound Cake
This lemon pound cake absolutely lives up to it’s name…. it’s perfect.
OMG, I am literally drooling just looking at this picture. You simply can’t go wrong with the chocolate + cheesecake combo.
Perfectly Crumbly Apple Crisp
This recipe includes apples, so technically, it’s healthy – right?
I hope ya’ll enjoy these scrumptious recipes as much as I did. What are some of your go-to desserts? Let me know in the comments!
